THE POSITION
We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Automotive Storeperson - Team Leader. The main function of this role is to receive, maintain and issue store items in line with company policies and operate at a level of quality that exceeds customer expectations. This role is suitable for someone who has automotive stores knowledge and can interpret automotive parts.
What you will do:
- Automotive parts interpreting for Panel and Build Teams; reading and interpreting various OEM systems
- Handle and store hazardous materials in compliance with company and other legal requirements
- Return defective parts to suppliers or customers, maintain the quarantine log and follow up for disposition of quarantined items
- Review order details precisely and be responsible for accurate placement and verification of orders
- Maintain real-time visibility of delivery ETAs by utilising tracking systems to monitor shipment progress and communicate updates to relevant parties
- Inspect incoming parts for damage during receipting process, document any non-compliance issues
- Promptly communicate discrepancies to relevant stakeholders and initiate appropriate corrective actions or returns as necessary
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, facilitate clear communication channels, enhance collaboration and maintain positive partnerships
- Oversee accurate physical receipting of parts and financial invoice matching. Conduct regular audits, resolve discrepancies promptly and maintain detailed records for financial compliance
- Manage timely issuance of parts and components to production. Ensure smooth workflow by proactively addressing potential material shortages or delays
What you will bring:
- Manual Driver’s Licence
- Forklift Licence and experience in using Forklift
- Intermediate Computer skills
- People person with a 'can do' attitude who is passionate, energetic and shows initiative
- Organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Doesn't mind working autonomously as well as in a team
Nice to have:
- Experience in the Automotive Stores role and Parts interpretation an advantage
