Position Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced vehicle spray painter to join our paint shop team located in Altona North. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills and work with a market leader, within a supportive environment that inspires excellence and perfection.
This position will involve working on used as well as new vehicles and as such requires a high attention to detail.
About the role:
- High quality spray application of Primers, Sealers, Basecoats, and Clearcoats
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, priming, and damage repair
- Match paint colours as required
- Ensure all painted surfaces are free of defects, touch-ups as required
- Collaborate with other team members to complete scheduled workload efficiently and effectively
- Operate and maintain spray painting equipment
- Applying Primers, Sealers, Basecoats, and Clearcoats with precision and care
- Preparing surfaces for painting through meticulous sanding, priming, and repair work
- Matching paint colours flawlessly to meet exact specifications
- Ensuring all painted surfaces are flawless, addressing any touch-ups as needed
- Working collaboratively with team members to efficiently complete projects
- Operating and maintaining spray painting equipment to the highest standards
What you will bring:
- Must be Trade qualified – Automotive Refinishing
- Expertise in colour matching and surface preparation
- Experience with water based paint systems
- Minor paint repairs and buffing skills, essential
- PDR ability and experience will be highly considered
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work in a team as well as unsupervised
- Be flexible with working hours to meet demand where requested
- Honest and reliable work ethic
- Must have a valid unrestricted drivers license
- Excellent communication skills
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality spray painting work
