The Position:
Due to recent growth, we currently have an opportunity for an IT Systems Administrator to join our team. This role is focused on supporting and will serve as a critical member of our IT Infrastructure team and function as a technical resource for application management, security oversight, system monitoring and system patching. This role will work closely with our Service Desk team and requires both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills.
What you will do:
- Provide advanced technical support for enterprise applications and systems
- Co-ordinate with wider IT team as an escalation point
- Support wider IT team responding to incidents and or addressing vulnerabilities.
- Assist with patch management and security updates to maintain system integrity
- Monitor system performance and ensure availability and reliability of IT infrastructure
- Support system patching and maintenance
- Perform routine system backups and recovery procedures
- Assist and manage the documentation of various IT processes and systems
- Assist and manage the end user instructions and or manuals
- Communication and training with the wider business
- Collaborate with senior administrators to implement IT projects and upgrades
- Follow IT policies and procedures to ensure security and compliance
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in system administration
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in IT support with focus on applications and security
- Demonstrated knowledge of system patching methodologies and best practices
- Strong understanding of information security principles and practices
- Experience in technical documentation creation and maintenance
- Proven ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with endpoint security, email security and system monitoring tools is preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills with knowledge of how systems and applications communicate
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Familiarity with Active Directory, virtualization, and cloud services is a plus
- Adaptability to changing technological landscapes and business requirements
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently when required
- Willingness to work outside regular business hours when necessary
- Strong team collaboration and interpersonal abilities
